Hard day at office

It is a very hard day for me at office. I am not able to concentrate on my work. Adobe's decision to transform its business in Digital Media and Digital Marketing has resulted in laying off 750 people from the company. Although I was expecting this move and Adobe's decision of transformation in to Digital Media and Digital Marketing, I am still not able to digest the news. I am very sorry about the people who lost their jobs. I am can understand their pain that too especially if they some loans to pay back like House loan, Car loan etc. I wish everyone to get a better opportunity sooner and settle down with the change sooner.

Theory of relativity - My Philosophical Funda!

I am just an another guy who is amazed of Physics theory, Theory of relativity.

In simple words theory says, Time and Space are relative.

I don't go deep into explaining the Theory of Relativity. It's more than a century old theory, it should be easily understandable by reading some books or watching some lecturer if you don't know it already.

Well!, what I am trying to say is some phylosophical funda, we can replace the time and space dimensions with human nature/behaviour.

Getting confused?

Let me explain to you.

Imagine a man is sitting inside the train, relative to the person standing in the train station, outside the moving train, man sitting in the moving train is MOVING, at a speed which is equal to the speed of the train. Consider the man standing inside the train, next to the person sitting inside the train, relative to that person, the person who is sitting next to him is NOT MOVING at all. This is theory of relativity. A simple theory, which explaind the possibility of creation of Time machine, nuclear bomb, creation of the Universe etc. This purely a Physics.

Now, let me explain you the phylosophical funda I am talking about.

Atleast in our home alcohalism is considered to be a sin. Relative to me, a person who consumes alcohal is committing a sin. But relative to another person who also consumes alcohal, it is not at all a sin and he with think there is nothing wrong in consuming the alcohal.

Let me give one more example, this time the one I experienced.

One of my good friend's friend is very flirtatious, relative to my friend there is nothing wrong in being flirtatious (As he is also very flirtatious ;) )

But relative to me, I hate people who are flirtatious. Again here, Relative to me, my friend's friend's nature/behavior is bad or not so good.

But relative to my friend, he doesn't find anything wrong in his flirtatious behaviour.

OK, I am sure you all might have confused with my funda as you all might have confused when you first read about Theory of relativity by Enstein :)

Let me explain you in more simpler manner.

I am sure many of you will know Veerappan, the infamous smugger, theif, kidnaper and a murderer. He was in involved in killing of numerous people including many Police officers, Forest Officers innocent people and a Minister.

Now, let me explain you taking him as an example for my (Phylosophical) "Theory of Relativity"

Let us consider a person or just let me consider myself, relative to me Veerappan is a natorious criminal, thief, smuggler and he was a enemy of humanity. But, relative to Muthulaxmi who is Veerappan's wife, Veerappan is a wonderful human being! She (Muthulaxmi) is still fighting a case in Tamil Nadu Court on killing of Veerappan. She believes, killing of Veerappan was inhumane. But I consider, Veerappan deserved the death he had. I wouldn't care even if he was encountered, as argued by Muthulaxmi. Even if it is true, he deserved being encountered.

Coming back to our original subject, everyone's thinking differs, no two human being's can have a same behaviour. but, people with similar thinking will be bind in relationship or friendship. Human behaviour is relative. What is good for one, may not be good for others.

Many times in your (or I should say 'our') lives, you will come across the situation where in, you consider you are right and some other person is wrong. I would say, relative to you, you are right and the other person is wrong. Relative to a third person, the other person might be right and you may be wrong! Probably these is what people say (My Ex-Manager used to say), thinking from others shoes.

So, think from others shoes, if someone is blaming you, relative to them, you have done something wrong. Doesn't matter whether you are right or the other person.

This is my theory of relativity!

Idea - Diet Restaurant in Bangalore

Few reasons I can think of why people visit restaurants would be

1. Satisfy the one's hunger needs

2. Change from the regular food

3. For relaxation

4. Laziness for preparing the food (Certainly, I am sure)

5. To get together with Friend's and Family

Only major reason why people think of not visiting the restaurant is "HEALTH CONSCIOUSNESS".

In a city like Bangalore, where people are leading busy life style, are more prone to Hypertension, Diabetes etc. So, elderly people, people conscious about their health and people who wants are worried about their fitness avoid visiting restaurants. This throws out a good Business idea, an idea which can pull these people towards restaurants. I call it as "Diet Restaurant".

My idea of Diet restaurant would serve.

~ No junk foods

~ Menu filled with items prepared of spinach, vegetables.

~ Total avoidance oil. For those food items which needs oil should only use Olive oil (Olive oil will have good amount of omega 3 fatty acid. It is good for health) But should be using very minimal.

~ Less use of fruits to meet required carbohydrates.

~ No meat foods.

~ Egg without yolk can be used as it will contain protein.

~ No use of Ghee, Butter, Curd and any sorts of food items made of milk.(Even the coffee can be served without milk.)

So, here are two ways you can help me out.

Facebook Vs Orkut

Ever since I started using Orkut, I might have come across at least 100 bugs in it (It is certainly not exaggeration). I wonder what Google engineers are doing there. I am not sure if it is negligence in Google engineer’s part that they release beta version of their product for years and let the users to compromise on the bugs with their product? It is shameful that companies like Google don't really care anything about the quality of the product. The reason I am blogging because, it has been months since I used Orkut. It gives me blank screen and nothing shows up in the browser. BTW, I am using Chrome, which is again a Google's product. Only way I could know that I am successfully logged into Orkut is by looking at the chatting window shown at the bottom left of my screen

Another nonsense issue I am facing is, it only suggests some random Brazilian fellows in Friend's suggestions. In fact it never suggested even a single genuine friend of mine till now. How do I know this? Orkut somehow works fine on my Internet explorer browser.

No wonder Facebook has crushed Google in Social networking business. I was just wondering what the trend between Orkut and Facebook is. The trend clearly suggests, Orkut is really going to die soon!

Google, online search giant has removed Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir from Indian Map. Both Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are integral part of India. China is accusing Google for Tax fraud. So, Google is trying to impress China, by removing Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir from Indian map. Google is playing with Indian's sentiments by dividing integrity of India.

We the citizens of India should protest this illicit action of Google.

Adobe gifts Smart phones to its employees

Adobe to evangelize Flash Player on Mobile, gifted all its employees with a Smart Phone. All though there were many other options initially for choosing the phone, finally we all ended up only getting HTC Desire HD. I initially choose to go for Samsung Galaxy S, later every one were provided only with HTC Desire HD (Only in India, in US and countries there were lots of other choices). It was the most awaited gift from Adobe, since we were expecting this from a very long time. Phone looks good. I am yet to play around with my mobile.

I have an Airtel Prepaid connection, which I am using from many years. Today, for my surprise I got a message as ERECHARGE SUCCESSFUL for 100 rupees. Excluding the deductions for services charges and all, I got a 80 rupees worth talk time.

This is the second or third time, my mobile is being recharged by somebody else.

If it was accidentally recharged to my account, sorry boss its not my mistake. If it is by purposeful, then thank you buddy! Keep up the good work! Please continue to same ;)

Breaking News : A Raja has been hospitalized for chest pain complaint

A Raja, former Telecom arrested with charges for involving in Telecom scam. Which is considered to be a biggest scandal in Indian history. By the time I am writing this blog, I am not seeing the head line I have written in the first line on any of news websites. But, I will not be surprised if I come across such news very soon. Its a easiest way to escape from being jailed. Its a old escape route corrupt politician's have found. I am sure A Raja will try this escape route sooner or little later.

Problem with Indian Law is richer and powerful can escape from any crime. The politicians and bureaucrats doesn't need to bother about committing any crimes. I hardly seen any politicians getting punished for any crime charges in my life time. There are many corrupt politicians like Jayalalita, B S Yeddyurappa, Lallu Prasad Yadav and many more who were not convicted for longer time. Except very rare cases of, like Madhu Koda who is jailed for Mining scam.

Certainly this is a good news. Hopefully many corrupts gets punished and I wish a situation should arises where politicians fear to get them self involved in corruptions.

Moreover I am eagerly waiting for getting back all the black money kept in Swiss bank and punish all those who have an account in Swiss bank.

As the saying goes "Every journey starts with a first step", cracking out corrupts should be a journey. It shouldn't end here itself.

Fraud while filling petrol

It so happened yesterday, I was waiting in a queue to get fuel filled for my bike in HP petrol bunk in JP Nagar, near ring road in Bangalore.

Two people were standing in front of me. One was having TVS scoter behind him another fellow was waiting for his turn. The person with TVS scoter got filled his fuel tank for 30 Rupees only. Once that fellow got his fuel filled for 30 rupees, he paid the money and left. The next person in the queue, asked to fill the fuel for 200 rupees. The attendant in that petrol filling station started talking to another attendant who was collecting the money from customers. During this time, the fellow customer who was about to get fuel filled for 200 rupees got his attention diverted and he started taking money out of his pocket. Meantime, Petrol filling station attendant started filling the petrol from the point where he stopped for his earlier customer i.e. from 30 rupees without resetting the fuel pump meter to zero. As I was standing just behind the customer who was getting his fuel filled, I could observe everything. But the sad part was by the time customer did raise his head to check the meter attendant started filling the fuel, so the customer but he couldn't catch the petrol filling attendant cheating. Although I noticed that HP petrol filling station attendant cheating his customer, I didn't utter a single word. To my surprise, that attendant did notice that I have observed everything. When he was about to attend my turn he behaved in a confident manner and he behaved as if he did nothing wrong. I got my bike filled with petrol and I left the petrol filling station. But, all the way till office, I was feeling guilty that I didn’t raise my voice to alert the customer who was getting cheated in front of my eyes. Even now, I am feeling guilty for not objecting the attendant to bring the meter back to zero.

Few times, I felt I might have been cheated by diverting my attention. But I wasn't so sure. I am blogging this to alert my friends to beware of such cheatings. Now on if your vehicle runs out of fuel don't just blame rising fuel price, you might have been cheated while filling your vehicle with petrol!

3. I will not buy things or services to show off to friends who are also doing the same!

4. I will not buy a ‘branded’ product unless I can see the Value in what I am buying.

5. I will not change jobs just to get a higher salary

6. I will not invest in any financial instrument without increasing my knowledge

7. I will not buy any asset beyond my means hoping to pay a higher EMI from an increased income.

8. I will not mix my investments with my insurance IMMATERIAL of how attractive the transaction

looks!

9. I will not marry a person who is financially incompatiable with me.

10. I will not assume anything in the financial world, I will check using present value and future value before taking a decision.

11. I will not buy a house ‘because it is conventional to do so’. Will buy a house when I am convinced that I am planning to stay in it for more than 10 years at least!

Most important: Properly stick to all the resolutions!

It is total stupidity to believe that, one can earn good money from mginger. In my opinion, you will be wasting your time whenever you get an SMS, just to check who has sent it. Forget about reading it fully. If you greed your friend to join your network, they soon realize that it is not the smart way to earn any money. In return they will bash you for spamming their mobile inbox.

mginger will pay 2 rupees for every friend you refer. At the maximum you will have 100 friends. Assume you will refer everyone. You will get 200 rupees, which is only one time payment. When you verify your mobile and email address you will be paid with 4 rupees. Then on you have to wait for some SMS to be sent to you and your friends just to earn like 20 paisa or so. You hardly find any item in this world which costs 20 paisa. Even beggars wont be accepting 20 paisa from you anytime. You would end up waiting for years to make enough money to get your pay cheque.

Sadly, whatever the SMS you get are all junk and it will least interest you. Personally I haven't got even 5% of advertisements which would be beneficial for me. I would be surprised if any one goes and subscribes for mginger just earn money in terms of paisa.

The money you would be earning per SMS didn't change for years and I am pretty much sure, it will not change for few more years as well. Mginger doesn’t increase the amount they would be paying how much ever the value of rupee decreases due to inflation.

Moreover, when you are using roaming service, every time you receive a SMS, your service provider will charge you for roaming service. In this case instead of earning money you will be losing.

So, beware don't fall into the trap of all glorious advertisements mginger does. You only lose out of this service and there is no gains what so ever manner.

Earning money by reading SMS is just hype. Please don’t fall in to such trap.

Uncle again for a baby girl

GMail hack : Mail from a friend’s email address asking for money

Today morning I was astonished to see a mail from my friend saying he has been robbed in Scotland and he needs money to come back to India.

I was stupid enough to believe that mail. I replied asking my friend to call immediately as the mail did not mention how I could transfer the money. I started collecting money from my friends, as I was not having enough money hoping my friend will call and he will give the information about how I could transfer the money. But, I got a reply to transfer the money to following address

The mailing address seemed little fishy and more importantly a warning message was shown in gmail as "Warning: This message may not be from whom it claims to be. Beware of following any links in it or of providing the sender with any personal information". I called my friend just to confirm that, his account hasn't been hacked. Not surprisingly, I could reach my friend over phone. He explained that his account has been hacked and some SPAM has been sent to all the email addresses in his address book.

Finally, a lesson has been learnt today. I was very stupid enough to believe that mail and I jumped in hurry and informed my friends to transfer money to me. Fortunately I didn't send the money to the address mentioned in that mail. I had been getting a mails to claim the lottery prize of some millions and all. But that was very obvious those are SPAM. But, this one from my friends email address was really a tricky one.

I am blogging this incidence because, I thought I should spread across the word to my friends so that they are aware of such incidences and they don't get into such traps.

My initiative for greener earth

Inspired by the Go Green activities in Adobe, I have purchased a bike for myself yesterday.

It was a long awaited plan. I should say, it has been more than six months since I had decided upon to go for a new bike.

I was trying to buy a second hand bike for a very reasonable bike from my friend's friend. But my friend's friend turned out to be very greedy and wanted to sell his bike for the price one and half times the price at which he had purchased (He purchased in a black market). Also, he was negotiating with couple of others too to sell his bike. Though it was still a reasonable price for me, I didn’t want to entertain his greedy attitude.

So, I made my mind to buy a new bike for myself. Though I planned it to buy on Saturday, my plans got washed away by heavy rain. So, I went along with my brother in law on Sunday to buy. After looking at many bikes I shortlisted few. Among them one was a racing bike, although it was out of my budget, I still wanted to buy as I liked it very much. But, my brother in law had some concerns on that bike. So, we finally decided on a very simple bike, which was well within my budget and we purchased. My brother in law took a first ride from the shopping center to our home and then my nephew took the second :) Of course I took a ride couple of times in the evening.

I still fear to ride to office. I wish Bangalore would have a separate lane bikers as in China. It would take some time for me to ride on a busy traffic but surely I will take it for a longer ride shortly.

I am happy that I will be saving Petrol in this manner, helping Indian economy by reducing oil import (It might be even a single dollar a month. But still I feel, I am doing something better) I need not to worry on my diet calorie and lack of good exercise. Moreover, I am very happy that I will be contributing less to Global warming (Although I am still contributing, I will reduce even more. This is just a beginning. I am more plans to make this world green).

LIC: Life in securing corporation

One friend you really don’t want to have is, marketing executive of any of the investment company. They will bug you till you invest. They assure you of making you a millionaire before investment. While they explain about the investment your eyes will be blinking like stars, but once you withdraw from the investment I am sure you all will see stars in day time! Just as I saw yesterday!

My friend brother bugged me to open up a LIC policy assuring greatest returns just by investing for three years and can be withdrawn on the fourth year. I fell in the trap of LIC insurance agent and I went on to get LIC Money plus ULIP policy.

Now I am in real need of money so, I opted to withdraw the policy since I could back out of the policy was after 4 years. Yesterday I got the cheque for the final settlement. I was astonished to see that after waiting for 4 long years; I got lesser the money than I paid as part of the premium amount I paid every year.

I called my friend brother now and asked about it, only now he explained me that LIC will be deducting nearly 30 percent of our premium every time the premium is paid. Since LIC Money plus was an ULIP policy, returns are totally dependent on stock market conditions.

After losing the money with my LIC policy, I have decided not to invest in any ULIP policies. Sad part is; I always trusted LIC rather than any other private investment companies. Now I can arguably say, LIC is neither a trustworthy company nor it does good investment in market.

I have only one question for my fellow LIC agent.

“Why the hell you didn’t tell me that, LIC will deduct nearly 30 percent of the premium money when I initially went on to get a policy?”
One better suggestion I have for my fellow friends, invest wisely in mutual funds after completely understanding the offer document. Never invest in ULIP funds.

Well! After thinking about more than half an hour to write my first sentence, I am still not getting those words to express. Ah! I am giving up!

I took above line from the song "Nagu naguta nali nali, eene aagali...." from the movie Bangaradha Manushya.

Yes, it’s the childhood. Sweet memory doesn't perish that too of childhood. We just need to recall, to feel the pleasure.

My school days friend Sunil is getting married next month. I believe it’s only the marriage where everyone can get together in a happy mood.
So, Ravi, another schoolmate of mine, is taking this opportunity to collect all the school friends to meet up together in Sunil's marriage. It’s like a lifetime opportunity for all of us to meet together. As a first step, he has collected the school day's photo graph and catching up everyone.

I am glad that I got this pic. It’s going to keep my memories alive for rest of my life.

A team outing, which I didn’t really enjoyed :-(

Baffled with the subject?

Yes, you read it right!

After Flash builder 4 release, we were anticipating a good outing with family.
Budget wasn’t the constraint this time. We had enough I believe. But only thing was, we were looking for some nice place.

Popular suggestions were

Oldebangalore
Jaladhama
Indusoutback
Clark Exotica
Fantasy Golf Resort

But after lots of mails floating around, we decided upon either Jaladhama or Fantasy Golf Resort.
My personal choice was Jaladhama for several reasons. One one of them was, on the way we would have passed through my native place, Kanakapura. It has been years since I have gone to that place :-) and of course, my friends who have visited Jaladhama have suggested visiting there.
But my stupid and lazy colleagues were against going to Jaladhama as it could take about 3 hours for reaching there.
Since few people weren’t interested for overnight stay, it would have been hard for them to have a total 6 hours journey.
So finally, we have planned to visit Fantasy Golf Resort on Friday (26th of March)

My first impression itself was bad. They have got a horrible management there. We were waiting for some stupid manager to start some stupid team building games. Of course none of us were interested in playing them. But still we managed to play Treasure hunt, passing rings and bursting balloon games. Only because of our manager's push :-)
After these stupid games we had lunch. Again I was amazed the way they have arranged, we were asked to take a token from a person who was standing very next to the person who was collecting them. It was embarrassing to me. What embarrassed me most was, we were not supposed to change the plate after having a round of meal :-(
They literally avoided taking new plates after having one round of meal.

After lunch, few got a chance to play TT, few played Golf, I was just doing time pass by playing Badminton. I have no words to explain the condition of those bats. I wish I could have taken the pics of badminton bats we had there. :-(

We had booked cricket ground from 4 PM onwards so, we played two volleyball matches. There was another team playing cricket so, ground was not free so, we got the ground only by 4.45 PM. We could only play one match and the team I was in, lost that match :-( I was belted by Shreyas when I bowled :-( It is also not a good experience isn’t it? :-)

Few people left around 6 PM. Later few went into pool and few went for dancing. Especially people who came with their family enjoyed it. It was night already. We ordered some starters while we all were chit chatting I was having little headache. By the time we had dinner, I had severe headache. So, I left to room immediately after dinner to relax. After I left, others had fire bowl dancing and booze party. Next day, I heard that was quite fun. Rooms were good enough. Only thing was AC was very noicy, it added its little share to headache which I already had.

Next day morning we had breakfast and none of us were interested to play any more games except one or two. So, we all checked out of our rooms and left the resort in the morning itself.

I was really thrilled about the outing. It was nowhere nearer to my expectation. I really got disappointed as it was a ship party and we couldn’t have a good outing :-(
In my opinion we just had time pass than fun as were anticipating. We choose the wrong place for outing I believe. I was cursing the people who opposed Jaladhama for the outing, all the time :-)
There is nothing out there in Fantasy golf resort. I really don’t suggest having an outing over there to anybody.
I didn’t carry my camera. My other colleagues could have taken some pics. But, they haven't shared them yet. So, no pics this time! I don’t even regret for not taking any pics out there!

Today, I watched god playing cricket and he played for India!

I have lost my words! I am speechless at this moment. Its a moment immediately after a god of cricket "Sachin Tendulkar" scored 200 runs. Its an achievement no other man on earth ever done. It’s an achievement only good cricketer can dream but only greatest can achieve.

I will remember every moment of the game. I watched most of your game, Sachin. But I will make sure I will watch every ball you played in highlights when I go home today.

Well, time runs faster. Believe me! Yesterday’s little kiddo, my dear sister today is a proud mother of a baby boy!

Today morning at around 1.10 AM, my dear sister Shwetha is now a proud woman by being a mother. I personally can't wait to see my new nephew :-) It was a heart boiling moment for every members of our family. Everyone in our family were tensed as my sister was physically very weak. But god’s grace, both mother and baby are doing fine. Labor wasn't normal, as baby was surgically delivered.

Anyways, all well that ends well!
I mean, Alllll.........Izzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..........Wellllllll..........!!!! :D

Recalled Nagarahaavu and its fabled artists

It was my long time desire to visit Chitradugra. Especially after splendid movie Naagarhaavu in my school days (I was studying 6th or 7th when I watched this movie for the first time).I just keep avoid explaining about, how much I love that movie here :-) But I just want to mention that, it is my all time favorite Kannada movie.
As the quote goes "Better late than never" I got a chance to visit Chirtradurga and its historical fort yesterday. As one of my college-mate was getting married in Chitradurga, me and my few other friends decided to visit Chitradurga and to attend our friend's reception. We had enough time to visit the fort there before reception.
So, when I visited there, I was just recalling the places shown in the Nagarahaavu movie. I could recall the many places shoot in that movie.

Year end: Time for some secret devil/angel games

Well, just few days left for year end shut down. So, as usual in our team at Adobe we played a game to end the year with lots of fun. In previous years, we have played ‘Secret devils’ game. But last year secret devils game turned out to be very devilish. Some people couldn’t enter their cube. Mail was sent from my id that I am getting engaged. Lots of items were misplaced. Few couldn’t recover their things.

So, this time many were against to play secret devils game. In fact I opposed to be a part of any kind of game this time. Since most of them were against secret devils game. We played secret angels game (Original idea was for secret angels game. But people with devilish thoughts changed to secret devils game). Like earlier this time also Shanaz was the organizer. She was as perfect as in her work in arranging the game :P

Game went on for some seven working days. On the final day, we all gathered to celebrate Saurabh‘s birthday (18th Dec) and for revealing secret angel. Many could guess, in fact my earthling was Shreyas and he could guess it right. But my angel was Jyoti. I was having a doubt; it could be either of Shanaz, Sangavi or Jyoti. But, Jyoti did a trick in one of her note mentioning “As your manager says” since Jyoti was my manager I thought it could be either Shanaz or Sangavi. Jyoti's trick worked well. Another chance I had on the last day when I working in my cube, I noticed someone keeping a dairy in my cube behind me. I suspected it could be Jyoti. But, still I was not affirmative. Probably, I should improve my spy skills :D

Anyways, the game was lovely, everyone exclaimed with pleasure, we had lots of fun. Most of the time we were thinking of who could be our angel before revealing :D. It was very well arranged (Of course Shanaz was rewarded with some nice gifts from Ananth (Director of Engg.):-))

What made my day!

Well I am not a blind believer of astrology. But recently I had lots of hiccups in life and in profession. That made me to think, let me show my horoscope to somebody. RK, who is my colleague, firmly believes that his father is a good astrologer. He kept saying his father’s astrological predictions have come true many times. He had given lots of examples including in his own life. So, I thought I will show my horoscope to his father. So, last weekend RK had a plan of visiting to his native. So, I had given a copy of my horoscope (Jataka/Kundali) to show it to his father. So, that brought me cheers today morning!

Here are the highlights!

1. Horoscope very good ----- No comments :-)
2. Lucky fellow----- Never felt though, let us see :-)
3. God’s grace is very good-----Thank you god :-)
4. 3 planets in very good positions ----- Please don’t change your place now on :-)
5. After marriage very lucky, tremendous progress in life ----- Now I can dream about of it :-)
6. Intelligent ----- Hmmm…. No comments :-)
7. 2010 marriage year, arranged marriage, girl will be very beautiful ----- Woh, ladki hai kahan...! :-)
8. Cash, house or site along with girl ----- I am really against dowry, I won’t take. If they willingly give it to my girl, I don’t mind ;-)
9. 2013 Jan onwards, turning point in life towards good. Fantastic improvement in life----- feels like I am in heaven :-)

Some bad things aswell :-)

1. Being careful on vehicles (driving) No life problems, only minor.
2. From 2007 mid to 2009 September some bad period. Money loss, investment loss, unexpected expenditure. This bad period is over. (Feels good again)

Whether are not it’s going to be 100% true. At least it brought some smile on my face ;-)

I can just say, ‘Nennolume nangirali thande, Kai hididu nee nadesu munde’ :-)

Lost friend and our last memorable moment

It is nearly 24 hours since I heard about the shocker, that my friend Nagendra is no more with us :-(

Since I couldn’t make in time for the funeral it is still unbelievable for me that he is no more.

Last time I met him was in his marriage, it’s already about 6 months back.

Still there are fumes about his accidental death, a loss is a loss.

I can't ever forget the time I spent with, during our college days, in our house, in his house.

Beside begin a very good friend, he was also my project mate, Good advisor, well wisher.

There are very few friends in this world with whom I have shared about my personal life and professional life. Nagendra was one among them, and he was the only one who used to follow up with the issues I am facing, when we used to talk next time.

For past 24 hours I have been reading his mails, remembering our silly talks, the way I used to tease him. It’s not an exaggeration, if I say he was certainly the one who had helped me in many ways, helped me most in my life.

Dear friend, you will always be in my heart. I will not be able to find another Nagendra for rest of my life. I will certainly keep your marriage pic for rest of my life for your remembrance.

May your soul rest in peace.

420 : What god must be thinking?

I dont really believe it is just a mere coincidence anymore. I have been noticing this for years and it is happening very frequently. Some times I wake up in the morning I will just check the time. Believe me very often the time turns out to be 4.20. But, not so surprisingly even in the evening many times when I check the time, it turns out to be 4.20 again. Many times, I will not look at the time for hours together, when I suddenly turn up to check the time, it turns out to be 4.20. I would have agreed it is just a coincidence, if this could have happened fewer times in my life time. It is happening again and again.

So, I have only one question.

God! Is it what you want to tell to me? :-)

It has been months since i have subscribed to Google adsense. Myself and a friend of mine wanted to establish a new business stream. But we didn't succeed in our venture because of various reasons we both did lack a good understanding among us. During the initial days lot of hard work was required to start the start up. But we both ended up in immense busy schedule we didn't put our best of the efforts. So, our project was not just far from over, it was a complete collapse. But, for this i opened a Google adsense account which kept on generating revenue even when we were inactive. Naturally it was not in the pace we were expecting since we were not very much active. But, Yesterday I received my first cheque(check) from Google.

Short trip during Christmas vacation

What am I doing on a long Christmas? Well honestly I am just doing a time pass.
But on Sunday my sister gave me a surprise by giving a very short notice on unplanned trip.
So, We left Bangalore on Saturday, stayed at my Aunt's House Saturday Night.

Sunday we left Aunt's house around 7.00 AM in the Morning. We started off our trip with early road side break fast near Cauvery water supply to Bangalore near Bluff. Then we visited to Madya Ranga temple,Manjunatha temple, Meenashi temple in and around Shivanasamurda. Then we went to Gaganchukki falls (Isn't good enough, Take my words don't visit :-) ) and then to Bharachukki falls. Then we did go to Talakaadu. After spending some time near river at Talakaadu We visited all the 5 Temples in Talakaadu. We did had a plan of visiting to Beligiri Ranga Hills. But it was late. We came to know that forest guards will not allow us to go inside after 6.30 so we shorted over plan. By evening 7.30 our trip was over. Good enough short trip :-)

Min fun at Max party

Last month Adobe successfully conducted Max conference. During that time Adobe showcased next version of Flex code named as 'Gumbo'. For Gumbo release we contributed to Flex builder product with some new features such as DCRAD (Developing a Data Centric application using Flex for Coldfusion/PHP developers), Network Monitor, Profiler Enhancement, Flex Unit testing support in Flex Builder. These were the features we delivered from Adobe Bangalore. Good feed back we got for the features we released. I was more pleased because I was the sole owner of Network Monitor and Profiler Enhancement features.

So, what next after one milestone is achieved?
No prizes for guessing, it is 'Party' :-)

We did postpone the celebration for sometime since few of them lost the job due to recession. Finally today we did go out for Lunch and later for Bowling. Initially we had Lunch at Legacy of Punjab at Richmond Road. Later we went for bowling at Amoeba Bowling alley at Church street. Although I love bowling it wasn't much fun time for me. When all my thoughts are wondering around recession and job security there was no meaning in having a fun outing.

Later in the evening we had a boozing party and dinner I skipped that. I thought good sleep is much better than watching pranks.

New Laptop @ office

My laptop HP-Compaq nc 6230 had completed 3 years. So warranty period for this laptop is over. So, I got a new Dell Latitude D630 laptop at office. With my earlier laptop I had a pathetic experience because of its quality and performance. Hopefully this laptop meets my expectation and I will have better luck at office ;-)

My beloved cousin gave a birth to new baby girl yesterday night at around 11.45 PM. Of course I was happily sleeping at that time. Both mother and the baby are doing fine. Trips during San Francisco Visit

Well, I am here in San Francisco for a very small duration. So, during this time I had a chance to visit few places in San Francisco.

We had long weekend last week since Monday was holiday here because of Memorial day. So, we had a chance to visit few places in and around San Francisco. Saturday myself and my colleague Sameer went to Fishermen Wharf then by bi cycle we ride through Golden Gate Bridge till Vista Point and we came back again to Fishermen's Wharf.

Sunday, we went to Union Square, when we visited Union Square, Chinese ethnic events and exhibition were going on, to collect money for relief fund for the earth quake which struck China recently.

Later that day Nihit ( ex-colleague) took around outskirts of SFO and visited Half Moon Bay and Pecifica. It is very nice place to visit. Very calm, very cold (Probably temperature was below 10 degree Celsius) with very less crowd. If you love beaches, then it is a must visit place for you.

Monday we visited China town did some shopping and roamed around city. And.... weekend was over......!

This Sunday I should be catching up the flight on my way back to Bangalore so, we are planning to visit Yosemit on Saturday. If everything goes according to plan I will post all my experience again in my next post. So, keep your fingers crossed and keep an eye on my blog....:-)

Celebrating my Birthday @ Adobe

Well, I thought for a while to write this post, but I don’t have a word to express! This was the most special birth day I ever had (Believe me I am going to remember this Birthday for rest of my life). First of all, I got birthday wishes from a friend from whom I was most anticipating.

Secondly, @ Adobe as usual Flex team celebrated my birthday. My heart filled with pleasure for the love shown by my teammates.

Ooo… lala….Friday at Wonderla

This Friday we were all set to go to Wonderla for a day outing. The occasion was to celebrate Flex 3 release. We went to Confident Groups Club, where we played Paint ball game at Yuyutsu as part of the Flex 3 release celebration. I believe we still had a enough budget to go to another product release outing (Why I should be worried about budget isn’t? My guess is avoiding big boozing party will definitely save some good money.). Majority of the people voted for Innovative Film City. We couldn’t get the clear details on events and games available at Innovative City. So, we decided to go to wonderla for team outing on Friday.

Our teammates have a peculiar psychology of demanding team outing for product release and then finally not joining the outing. We were around 12 members. We 9 members left office bit late around 10.30 in the Morning and reached Wonderla at around 11.30. Arijit, Ram and Satish joined us later.

We started of with playing crazy car then played few dry land events. We attended cini magic, Y-Scream and virtual reality, Net walk, Insanity and other dry land games. By that time it was already 2 PM so, we went for lunch. After lunch Anirudh, Arijit and Ram left wonderla. So, we were only 9 members left out.

After lunch we went for water rides. It was the most fun part of wonderla outing. We started off with water glide. Then we went for various rides like Wave pool, wavy and Vertical fall, Lazy River, Rain Disco, Water Pendulum etc, by the time we finished it was 6.30. If we could have left water rides early we could have attended giant wheel also. By the time we could get ready it was already 7 PM and all the events were closed. We left wonderla around 7.20 in the evening and we were back in office by 8.30.

Wonderla is a very nice place to visit for a day outing. But, it was crowded heavily. We required wait in a longer queue all the events. Probably we had chosen a wrong time. It is a holiday season for students and it was Friday, many people will be looking for outing mostly on Friday.

I got a new Seagate 160 GB external Hard disk as a shipping gift today. Although I need to pay 1500 Rupees from my pocket. I think it is a worth full gift I could select. We had a choice of selecting anything among external hard disk, bean bag, laptop bag or 2000 rupees forum gift coupon. Only condition was people who ever opting for external hard disk has to pay 1500 rupees from our pocket. Even though I paid 1500 rupees from my pocket, I think I chosen the right gift.

Total cost of the external hard disk comes around 3500 rupees with external case. I felt it is worth it....

Election campaign through blogs and social networking!!!!

Today, one of my friend asked me to offer a free campaigning service for his Alumni friend by and through social networking sites. Damn!!! For me extremism of election campaign was till now, was making a call or sending a SMS. Now the another extremism of technology/Election campaign could be blogging about a party or a candidate and scrapping in social networking sites like Facebook or Orkut. Oh man, I love this idea! Let me offer for all the parties and candidates, you pay me money, I will blog about you or your party. Even pay per click (Let me bring RIA also in to picture!) or pay per post basis is also fine for me :). I haven't seen any such blogs till now. But, no wonder if I find some such blogs sooner as elections in Karnataka are nearing.

Saying all about campaign through blogs and social networking, I wish my scrap book doesn't flood with campaigning scraps :)

Adobe ActionScript 3.0 From Gound Up Toor by Colin Moock

Yesterday I had a chance to attend training (It was called Adobe's ActionScript 3.0 From the Ground Up Tour) session on ActionScript 3.0 by Colin Moock. The session was conducted at The Grand Ashok Hotel in Bangalore. Colin Moock is the author of five best selling books on ActionScripts. Although Colin Moock accepted that he can't deliver the best session, as he was sick, but the training was very well done. Moock is traveling across the globe to give this free training on ActionScript 3.0. He has already giving training in various places like San Fransisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Amsterdam etc.

I believe Colin initially didn't had a idea of the kind of audience who would attend the training session. Although there were verities of audience in that session, most of the audience were from very good development Knowledge. He initially started off the training with a very basics of ActionScipt Programming. He started off with Programming tools, classes, objects and packages. Once he realized that most of the audience are from a very good development background he skipped session on variables, references, methods. There were two in audience who were very new to Object oriented programming and ActionScript. So, Collin offered a free books for those two.

First half of the session was basic and it was not that helpful for me at least. But later half of the day, there was a training on Events, display, image loading, text, interactivity. This session was a good take away for me at least. Colin took a example of feeding a pet (Very unusual example, I found it very interesting) and explained the topic very well. The session was closed around 5 PM in the evening. Probably he finished early because he was sick as well as he skipped few topics because those topics would have been very basic for the audience.

I tried searching myself and my mother, it gave me correct results. It also gives door number of the person you are looking for! Only drawback is, that person should have registered in voting list of his constituency.

Relating a mail forward to myself...

Few days back I got a mail forward from my friend which had a invaluable message. Outline of that mail thread was express yourself today itself because, may be that person is also expecting the same from you, otherwise tomorrow could be too late.

Just few days before I got this mail thread, I found a person on Orkut(After about 11 years, although we never talked to each other even till today, which I think it is secondary). When I read through the mail thread I felt I should say I would like to be friend of you to that person. But, I hesitated and I never said a single word. So, even though the mail thread said express yourself today otherwise tomorrow could be too late. I didn't do so.

Couple of days back things came as a surprise for me when that person itself sent a friend request on Orkut. I couldn't believe myself because the identifying me was 1 out of N on the other side (that person). Where as for me identifying that person was 1 out of 1. I mean to say I was just another student of many students of that person's father. But for me that person was just a single offspring of my teacher. Unbelievable isn't? I am not joking either!

So friends, even though I hesitated to express myself. I would suggest you to do so. May be other person also wants to be your friend :-)

I found a very interesting mail forward which I would like to share with every one. Shame the corrupt with ZERO!!!.... Yes, a movement called "Freedom from corruption" is launched in Tamil Naadu. Where citizens will be giving a note which is very similar to 1000 Rupee currency but, with a big ZERO. At the place of Reserve bank of India, there will be a message "Eliminate corruption at all levels".

Isn't it a interesting idea?

There are few success stories already. I wonder how long this movement will be successful. When the corrupt knows that there is such a note which is not a actual currency. Wouldn't he become cautious?

Anyway I appreciate the idea.

Team outing Yuyutsa Paintball

We are releasing our product Flex 3.0 today! as a part of celebration we (our team in India) went for an outing to Confident Cascades in Bannegatta road on Friday. We went in the afternoon after having lunch. Although we initially thought half day outing will not be fun enough, we really enjoyed a lot.

We reached Confident Cascades at around 3:15 PM. After having a welcome drink and friendly chat we headed towards Yuyutsa Paintball to play paint ball game. Many hesitated to play the paint ball game as the paint ball spills paint once it hits the player. Of course I was wearing a Moxie release T-shirt (It is one of the cheapest and low quality T-shirt I have :-)) for this purpose only.

When the guide was training us about using the Gun and explaining the game, he said we should be wearing helmet to cover our eyes all the time as eyes are only organs which could be affected because of the speed of the ball. So, immediate question from Sunil was "How much it could hurt, if the ball hits elsewhere!!!".

We played three games.
1. Last man standing
2. Capture the Flag
3. Capture the Flag of the opposite team.

Our team consisted of Myself, Ram, Arijit, Sahana, Sujit, Anand, Swaroop and a new girl just joined on Friday(I don't remember her name now)! Our first first two strategy went for toss and we lost two games. Finally we had one mission/strategy that we should be make at least one opponent out before we get out. Probably our strategy worked and we won finally ;-)

We still had enough time before we could head for dinner. So we played Badminton, Table Tennis and Cricket (We couldn't play more games since, most of the time play ground was occupied by others).

Adobe provided gifts to all its employees for its 25th year anniversary celebration. Employees had an option to select Ladies/Gents watch, Laptop carry bag, Travel bag or a Photo frame. I choose Photo frame. Its a 7 inch photo frame with 480 x 234 resolution from M&H International Holdings Co Ltd. (http://szmh.manufacturer.globalsources.com/si/6008825794681/pdtl/Digital-photo/1003044570/Seven-Inch-Digital-Photo-Frame.htm) Since I was not interested in other options. I was totally disappointed with this gift. Photo Frame does not come along with USB connector. We have to buy a USB Connector. We have to connect memory card to photo frame to view photo. Photo's are shown in slide show. But, its slide show is not very pleasing. Not enough inbuilt memory. Only 20 photos can be stored in the memory they have provided. Usability is pathetic. Quality of the materials used is very bad. At last I was regretting for choosing this gift :-(

Along with this mobile I got a AIRTEL prepaid connection for 195 Rupees with life time free incoming calls. As a offer for buying a mobile phone AIRTEL will be providing free 50 mins talk time, every month for any AIRTEL connections. One thing I was surprised was 50 Mins free talk time is applicable only when it is used along with the new hand set.
